Hockey Educational Systems has announced it's fall adult camp series to get you ready for the
upcoming GSHL Summer Season. Learn from former NHLers Jamie Huscroft, Jim McTaggart, and Kevin Quinn.
If you're just getting started with Hockey, or whether you're a seasoned veteran of the GSHL, the
HES camps are the perfect way to prepare for next season.
GSHL's 2008/2009 Fall /Winter season to begin October 5th
Plans and details are still being put together but we wanted to announce the date. There is a record level of interest from new players. Please watch this space for more info very soon.
It's easy to join the largest recreational adult hockey league in the Northwest. We will be holding 4 or 5 open Evaluation skates for new players in September. Dates are not yet final but the first eval will be on or around Sept 8th and the final will be on Sept 28th.
Here are the details!
22 Game Regular season.
Brand new 40 and up division. This will be a new seperate division featuring brand new drafted teams. Existing teams will not be allowed to enter this division. Teams will play 1 game a wek on either Tuesdays or Wednesdays at rotating rinks. 4 to 8 teams expected. More info soon

GSHL RANKS 5th IN THE COUNTRY
Adult hockey membership is growing year by year and there is no better example than right here in the Puget Sound!
According to a recent e-mail from USA Hockey, Greater Seattle Hockey League is the fifth largest adult hockey organization in the country, as of May 29, 2008. With approximately 1,500 members, GSHL trails only leagues in San Jose, Minnesota (Blaine and Minneapolis) and Dallas. Thanks to the dedication of players and staff to grow the sport all over the country, adult rec hockey has a very bright future.

About GSHL
Since the summer of 2001, Greater Seattle Hockey League has grown into the largest adult recreational ice hockey league in the Northwest and one of the largest in the country.
SEASONS
The league offers two seasons to keep you busy on the ice throughout the year. Our Fall/Winter Season includes 22 games plus double-elimination playoffs and runs from October to April. Our Summer Season consists of 12 games plus single-elimination playoffs and runs from May to August.
TOURNAMENTS
GSHL also hosts two tournaments each year. Our Spring Tournament is held each year on the first weekend of May. As many as 40 teams from around the Northwest participate, making it one of the largest adult recreational tournaments in North America. We also host a smaller 10-18 team summer tournament in mid-July.
SKILL IMPROVEMENT
For players looking to learn hockey as a beginner or looking to improve their skills, GSHL has partnered with Hockey Educational Systems. They offer a five week hockey school in April and again in August.
NEW PLAYERS
GSHL welcomes new players of all skill levels. Priot to each season we host three to five free evaluation skates. These evaluation skates give players new to the league a chance to perform basic skating, passing and shooting skills, along with a brief scrimmage. Captains of GSHL teams in need of players attend each session to participate in a draft at the end of each session. After the draft, new players are introduced to the captains of their teams.
GSHL strives for competive games and placing players on appropriate teams. With nearly 100 teams split between eight divisions (usually include A-B-C subdivisions), it's very easy to find a team and level of play that works for everyone. GSHL constantly monitors teams and works to move players and teams up or down in skill levels when needed.
STATISTICS
Detailed standings and statistics are provided by our partner, Pointstreak. Players can keep track of their personal stats for all GSHL related events, including regulars season games, playoffs and tournaments.
